I was born in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois and grew up in the small town of Elburn. This is where I studied under Ben Westfall of Da Capo Music Studio learned to play guitar. I worked many different jobs growing up in this rural small town since the time I was 12 starting at a golf course I lived next to. Growing up in middle class America, I had everything I needed but in order for me to get the things I wanted in life I was taught I had to work for it otherwise it would never be mine. This mentality taught me many of life’s lessons through the various jobs I’d held while growing up, and showed me every path that lay before me. After graduating high school, I joined the Army Reserves to help pay for school and went off to college in the ideal paradise for any midwesterner, Hawai’i. Studying to become a mechanical engineer and in ROTC at University of Hawai’i at Mānoa, it wasn’t until halfway through my sophomore year that I realized a career in the Army wasn’t my purpose in life. Growing up with a talented voice for impressions and characters, I nailed my first audition with an animated student short made by my soon to be fellow students within the Academy for Creative Media. This was the awakening I needed in order to take a chance on myself and quit playing it safe. I ended my time with ROTC and engineering and began to put all of my energy into my creative abilities, and with the wonderful guidance of those at the Academy for Creative Media and the mentors gained from my new job at Guitar Center, I was well on my way to becoming the entertainer I always dreamed of being. I hope to inspire others to follow what is in their hearts through my art, because that is what saved my life and allowed me to accept my true self.
